Creighton Wrestlers Lose a Nail-Biter to O'Neill

    The Eagles from O'Neill traveled to the Bullhawks house Thursday for a dual.  Braden Forker won two JV matches, one before the dual and one after.  The first varsity match was at 215, won by Russell Volquardsen of Creighton.  Kyle Berglund wrestled the most exciting match of the night which he won by fall in the third period.  Creighton gave up the matches at 103 and 112, Owen Pavelka from Creighton got pinned at the 119  pound weight class.  At 125 Andy Doerr won by pin, and at 130 Austin Baldwin won by pin.  Ryan Volquardsen lost by pin at the 135 pound weight class.  Brennan Becker of Creighton won a tough match by decision at the 140 pound weight class.  At 145 Eli Schrier lost by technical fall.  Andrew Largen at 152 and Spencer Frederick at 160 both lost by major decision.  Landon Pospisil won in regular fashion by pinning his opponent in the first period at 171.  Nick York was the final match of the night and won by pin at 189.  The Bullhawks fell just short and lost 36 to 37.  

The Bullhawks wrestle at the Plainview Invite on Saturday.
