FFA excels at LSE's

On Monday, January 4, 2010, the FFA chapter traveled to Crofton to compete in the Leadership Skills Events (LSE) competition. We had a small portion of high school students and quite a few junior high students participate. Doing speaking events were Becci Laflan and Austin Baldwin in Natural Resources, Jenni Laflan and Sarah Fanta-Job Interview, Jordan Morrill and Sara Wilmes in Cooperative Speaking, Becky Stevens recited the FFA Creed, Cody Ketelsen, Andy Doerr, and Wade Oltjenbruns did an Ag Demonstration, Becca Bree in Extemperaneous, and Kaleb Frtiz-Discovery Speaking. We had 23 Junior High students compete in the quiz bowl competition. We ended up having a very successful day. Qualifying for the State Competition in April were Becci Laflan, Jenni Laflan, and Cody Ketelsen, Andy Doerr, and Wade Oltjenbruns. Alternates to State were Sarah Fanta and Sara Wilmes. The FFA's next competition will be District Livestock Judging on January 28, 2010. Also all throughout the month of January, students will be preparing their proficiencies and applying for State Degree.
