Creighton-Verdigre Wrestling Defeats Boone Central

    Thursday night the Cardinals from Boone Central rolled into the dog house to dual the Bulldogs. The event started with a JV match between Creighton-Verdigre's Braden Forker and Boone Central's Jacob Olsen. Forker pinned Olsen in the first period of the match. The varsity dual started at the 160 pound weight class with Creighton-Verdigre's Spencer Frederick taking on Boone Central's Tanner Anderson. Anderson pinned Frederick in the second period. Landon Pospisil of Creighton-Verdigre at the 171 pound weight class didn't have anyone to wrestle so he got the Bulldogs 6 points by taking the open. In the 189 pound weight class Creighton-Verdigre's Nick York took on Boone Central's Jon Christo. York pinned him in the first period. Russ Volquardsen and Kyle Berglund of Creighton-Verdigre at the 215 and 285 pound weight classes didn't have anyone to wrestle so they each got the Bulldogs 6 points by taking opens. Boone Central's Bobby Stopak took an open at 103, and both teams were open at 112. In the 119 pound bout Boone Central's Jacob Meyer pinned Creighton-Verdigre's Owen Pavelka. In the 125 pound bout Creighton-Verdigre's Andy Doer tooled Boone Central's Mitchell Patzel, pinning him in the first period. In the 130 pound weight class Creighton-Verdigre's Austin Baldwin took an open, and in the 135 pound weight class Boone Central's Jessie Zwiener took the open. Both teams were open at 140. At 145 pounds Creighton Verdigre's Brennan Becker took Boone Central's Cody Miricle to the woodshed by pinning him in the first period. The dual concluded by Creighton-Verdigre's Andrew - taking an open in the 152 pound weight class.
