The CHS cross country team had their district meet on Thursday, October 15 at the Rolling Hills Golf course. The day turned out to be a little windy and a bit chilly, but our runners still did a great job of competing. Altogether, we qualified two runners, one boy and one girl. In the girls division Jill Brady was our sole state qualifier coming in 14th place with a time of 17:10 which is her personal best for the season. The other girls ran hard and placed as follows: Karlene Sukup-27th with a time of 19:27, Jenni Laflan-32nd-20:01, Anna-35th-20:20, and Becci Laflan-41st-21:00. The girls ended up 5th out of 7 teams. For the boys we had Austin Baldwin qualify after coming in 12th with a time of 18:46. Josh Javoursky also ran and came in 24th with a time of 19:47. The boys competed against 78 other runners. All in all, we had a very successful day. Our state qualifiers will compete next Friday, October 23rd in Kearney at the golf course. Jill will run at 2:00 and Austin will run at 3:00. Good Luck to the state qualifiers at the state meet.
