Recently the health careers class at CHS, taught by Mrs. Hanefeldt, went to the elementary to educate students on the H1N1 virus. Students emphasized the importance of washing their hands often, not touching your eyes, nose or mouth, because germs spread that way. They also explained to the younger students that covering your nose and mouth w/ a tissue when they cough or sneeze, is important.
American Red Cross has lots of great information at the following websites:

Parents and teachers can reinforce kids' hand-washing habits by using tools such as The Scrub Club, an interactive Web site that offers free materials to raise awareness about the benefits of hand washing to fight germs and prevent illness. The fun, Web-based experience is complete with educational materials, music, games and cartoon "Webisodes."
